Transform Your Mental Health

Welcome! I’m Anjana, a therapist who believes that healing should be equal parts meaningful and approachable. Whether you’re looking for traditional talk therapy or the added comfort of a furry co-therapist, I’m here to help. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and—when appropriate—a little light hearted. Because let’s be honest: life is tough enough, and therapy doesn’t have to feel like a chore.

How It Works

YOUR THERAPY JOURNEY

Step 1

Consultation

A free 10-15 minute phone call to understand your needs, concerns, and whether we’re the right fit for each other.

Step 2

Intake

Complete necessary paperwork and discuss how therapy works, expectations, and any questions you may have before starting.

Step 3

The Work

This is where meaningful change happens. Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, working through challenges at your own pace.

Step 4

Completion

When you feel ready and have achieved your goals, we reflect on your progress and discuss the transition out of therapy with closure and next steps.

What Is Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) ?

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a unique and powerful way to support emotional and mental well-being. It involves working with specially trained animals alongside a professional therapist to help people cope with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other challenges.

Animals have a natural ability to bring comfort, reduce stress, and create a sense of connection. Whether it’s a gentle dog, a calm horse, or another therapy animal, their presence can make therapy feel safer, more engaging, and even fun!

According to Pet Partners, a leading organization in the field of animal-assisted interventions, animal-assisted therapy (AAT) is defined as:

"A goal-oriented, planned, structured, and documented therapeutic intervention directed by health and human service providers as part of their profession."

This means that AAT involves intentional incorporation of animals into therapeutic sessions by qualified professionals, aiming to achieve specific treatment goals tailored to the client's needs.

Any Questions

Talk therapy involves discussing thoughts, feelings, and challenges with a therapist to gain insight and coping skills. AAT incorporates specially trained animals into sessions to enhance emotional connection, reduce stress, and support healing. Both approaches can be combined for a personalized therapy experience.
Therapy can help people of all ages, including children, teens, and adults. It’s beneficial for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, and more.
The length of therapy varies depending on individual needs. Some people find relief in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing support over several months or longer.
Not necessarily. Therapy moves at your pace, and AAT can help by providing comfort and interaction when words feel difficult.

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) Questions

I currently work with dogs and cats, and have experience working with horses, goats and rats as well.
No, interaction is always optional. Some clients find comfort in simply having an animal nearby, while others enjoy petting, playing, or engaging in guided activities with them.
We can discuss accommodations to ensure your comfort. If you prefer, we can focus on traditional talk therapy without animals.
Animals can reduce anxiety, provide emotional support, build trust, and make sessions feel less intimidating. They help people feel more at ease while working through emotions.
Many clients find that working with animals in therapy makes the experience more approachable and comforting. The presence of an animal can help break down emotional barriers and encourage deeper self-reflection in a non-judgmental, supportive environment.

Logistics & Getting Started

The first session is a chance to discuss your goals, get to know each other, and determine the best approach for your needs. If AAT is included, we will introduce the therapy animal and explain how they might be involved.
You can contact us via email or through our website to book a session.
Just yourself! If you’d like, you can bring a notebook or any important documents related to your mental health history.
